The United States Department of Transportation has announced $800 million in grants to improve roads across the country, with locations in Minnesota set to receive about $2.5 million. The funds will be used for projects as well as project planning.Some of the cities receiving some of the federal grants include Woodbury, Eagan, Elk River and Monticello. Hennepin County is also listed as receiving funds. The total amount of funds headed to Minnesota is $2,472,861.68. In Wisconsin, St. Croix County, as well as the Lac Courte Oreille Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, are among the recipients of funds.
